Nion’s Shadow Puppeteer

History

Director Irina Boiko was born in the Ukraine. She studied Theatre Directing in the National University for Arts and Culture, in Kiev, Film Directing in Panavision School, in Athens and Puppet Theatre Studies also in Athens.
In 2004 she founded “Irina Boiko’s Puppet Theatre”, which was later on named WHITE PUPPET. She directs and produces puppet theatre performances for children and adults in Greece and abroad, along with teaching and organizing theatre workshops.
She has worked with multiple cultural organizations in Greece and abroad in the field of Cinema and Theatre.
She has taught the art of Puppet Theatre in ESPA Programs, in Athens' schools, and also Theatre and Cinema Seminars for both adults and children around Greece(in Verroia Municipal Library, in Donousa island Elementary School, in Xanthi, in Kavala, at Olympia Festival and others).
She has collaborated with Mikro Polytexneio as Stage Lighting Designer in the “Pocket Theatre Festivals”, as well as teaching the “Acting On Camera” seminars for adults.
Her films have represented Greece in international festivals and have won many prizes and distinctions.
